This is a position for an independent learner who: likes to collaborate, experiment, evaluate and continually improve; has a deep respect for all children believing that each human has genius within; and is a flexible problem-solver.
Works with teachers to promote the educational and social development of the children enrolled in the program.
Supports the learning environment.
Helps with appropriate daily activities for children.
Conducts small groups in regards to specific learning material.
Establishes and maintains a safe, healthy, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children.
Supervises children for safety.
Keeps the learning environment clean and orderly by picking up learning materials, wiping tables and chairs, organizing etc.
Confers with parents in the absence of the teacher.
We are looking for someone with a deep curiosity about life, a lifelong love of learning, and an entrepreneurial spirit (must thrive in a startup environment). She/he will be responsible for facilitating a nurturing and joyful learning culture. We seek someone who has/is:

Good observational and communication skills

A strong teamwork ethic, a genuine desire to collaborate with colleagues, and a commitment to professionalism
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required. Teaching experience a plus. Teaching certificates are NOT required!
We strongly prefer candidates who would be available every week day from 8:30 AM – 3:00 PM. In your cover letter, please specify what part-time hours/days you would be available—morning, mid-day, or afternoon—and any scheduling constraints. Please note that as a small school, Acton is unable to sponsor candidates for employment-based visas.
